This is a baby chick, not a dragon. So what was it doing in the dragons’ cave?

Some dragons have their eyes on Chicken Katsu and plant to roast and eat her, despite knowing she's Rendang the khusa's pet. She is the only chicken around—they tend not to survive well on a snowy mountainside—so when these individuals discover this easy target just walking around, they agree to wait until the tiny yellow chick grows into a fat, juicy adult. "When you're bigger, when you're bigger", they say hopefully. Katsu can continue to live with not a care in the world because Rendang has a potent time-based spell that prevents her from aging and, more importantly, a bubble-shaped field spell that induces forgetfulness. Whenever visitors leave the area, they forget about Katsu's existence and "discover" her again whenever they reenter. Sometimes, Katsu will wander out of the protective field, forcing her owner to leave as well to retrieve her, and both temporarily become a little more airheaded as a result.
