Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Alorena is the oldest child of Aliyahna and Oniloui, and she is very similar to Aliyahna as a young dragon. Alorena is an incredible fighter, and in all her years of fighting and defending the Kri'laui clan, she has never been defeated in battle. Most dragons in the clan are terrified of her, and she is well-known outside of the clan for her ferocity, courage, and loyalty to her clan. She often imagines what it would be like to lead an army, but unlike her mother, she would rather die than go against what she believes to be right. She has no mate because she doesn't want to have stop fighting for her clan in order to raise hatchlings, but if she did want a mate, it would probably be her best friend, Unlakaui.
