Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Although Aliyahna is a fearsome and courageous warrior, as the leader of the Kri'laui clan, she has truly come to understand the powers of knowledge and rational thinking. As a young hatchling, she lived in the wilderness with her siblings, and was the leader of their group because of her fearsome battle skills and courage. However, she had an enormous ego, and dreamed of the day when the world would know how powerful she was. When she was a young adult, she was approached by Slkinva, the evil and twisted leader of the Vhan'Cvkan, and he asked her to lead his army by telling her tales of how powerful she would become. Aliyahna agreed instantly, and killed her siblings to prove her loyalty. She was later overcome with the guilt of what she had done, and she killed Slkinva and ran away. She later found some peace and solace when she met her mate and best friend, Oniloui, and together they founded the Kri'laui clan and have raised(and are raising) several eggs and hatchlings.
