Gold dragons are the ones most often killed by humans, who consider their scales to be extremely valuable. These golden scales grant them a high level of protection, similar to armor, and they use this to their advantage in battle.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Brough is a calm, relaxed Gold dragon who loves nothing more than to sit outside his cave on a warm day and relax. He often scratches small drawings into the ground of him and his best friend, an adventurous Gold named Midnight Ride. Brough dislikes exploring, so when Midnight kept urging him to explore with her, he tried to say no, but his friend kept asking, and he always gave in after a while. He hardly ever uses his wings, as he is scared of being hunted by a Gold dragon hunter. Midnight often assures him no hunters are near, but he doesn't like taking risks, so he sticks to the ground.
