Red Dragons are similar to typical story book dragons. They shoot flames, can fly, etc. However, they aren’t evil creatures as depicted in myths and won’t go around raiding castles, killing knights, or kidnapping princesses. They live in a variety of habitats, from forests to coastlines to abandoned castles, usually in warm climates, and eat whatever living creatures they can find.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Lipstick, named for the vibrant color of his scales, is not the same loving, caring, maternal dragon as his mother, Carmine. Though not necessarily violent, Lipstick is certainly rather aggressive for a Red and doesn't tend to play nice with other dragons. He rejects his parents, who work in caring for eggs and hatchlings, for devoting more time to the hatchlings of others than to him. And, though his parents do love him and have tried to make things right, he's too stubborn to accept it. Lipstick can be a bit petty and self absorbed. He often acts like he's the only one around with problems and that no one understands him. This juvenile view tends to make him unpopular with other dragons, and plenty question how someone like him could come from such a wonderful and caring family. He isn't all brooding edge though, Lipstick does have a softer side. To those who can withstand his pretentious whining, Lipstick will be a loyal and devoted friend. He ensures no one picks on his friends.
