Red Dragons are similar to typical story book dragons. They shoot flames, can fly, etc. However, they aren’t evil creatures as depicted in myths and won’t go around raiding castles, killing knights, or kidnapping princesses. They live in a variety of habitats, from forests to coastlines to abandoned castles, usually in warm climates, and eat whatever living creatures they can find.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Pyropendrus Dorkface RedClaw (after the gemstone: Pyrope Garnet) is the eighteenth clan dragon, and perhaps the start of a strange and interesting era for the clan cave. Pyropendrus seemed in quite a hurry to hatch from her shell, albeit the clan elders know that Pyropythiod's warm blaze lent aid to the process. The Clan Mother found her egg just outside the cave entrance, along with a single Red Dragon scale. Clinohumitian was able to magically identify the lineage of the mysterious scale back to an honored elder called Dorkface. As Pyropendrus's shell was cracking, and her head poked through, a loud and thunderous roar was heard far in the distance. As she grew, she seemed to become a beacon for others of her kind, those in need of a loving home where one could truly belong. Thus began the migration of Red Dragons into the Clan Cave in numbers unlike anything seen before. Pyropendrus takes great pride in her origins, and serves to lead the formidable force; The Red Claw.
