Avatars of Destruction possess a volatile disposition. They thrive on chaos and decay, and their horns and plated scales are as hard as forged metal. Because of their affinity with darkness and the destructive forces of nature, it was once thought that these dragons were omens of ill fortune.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

The world was so easy to break.

One subtle suggestion here, one show of force there, the occasional slaughtering of a benevolent leader or two. That was all it took to see lives shattered and chaos crowned supreme, to surround himself with the misery and decay he loved. But as age blurred into age he began to grow weary of such sport, finding little satisfaction in a game with no opposition.

That was when she appeared.

A young avatar of change, fresh and radiant, spreading peace everywhere she traveled. She was pure, innocent, beautiful. She would be his opponent. And he would see her broken and bloodied before the end.

With the earnest joy of a younger beast he set to his work, putting millennia of ill will and cunning to cruel use, turning one nation after another on their heads. He was quite flattered when she begged him to stop, and even more flattered when she pulled together a band of heroes to fight him. It would be a fun game... and she would be such a lovely mate.
