Gold dragons are the ones most often killed by humans, who consider their scales to be extremely valuable. These golden scales grant them a high level of protection, similar to armor, and they use this to their advantage in battle.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Curir is often smug and disagreeable, and he enjoys destroyed or barren environments that have a history behind them. Well, everything has a history, but Curir deems whether they're interesting history. He resides in one of the most opulent halls of the Algiers Barrio, working as an editor of Thorn Promotional, a location and position he gained partially on his status as a gold dragon. During his free time, Curir likes to poke his head into the outer parts of the Go-Around Barrio, whose history intrigues him. He never gets far enough that he's at risk of getting hurt, since the intrigue doesn't extend to putting himself in the path of physical or emotional harm. He sometimes hires more daring and usually more naive dragons to explore Go-Around on his behalf and tell him about things they encounter, providing they survive. Curir usually lets the notes and drawings sit in his room, though he very occasionally sells or posts them.
