Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Oran is a rather quiet dragon. He can usually be found in the dusty side-room of his Cave, looking through the junk that other dragons have collected but could not use. Oran's particular interest is in books; a rather unusual hobby for a dragon since their claws make it difficult to turn the delicate pages. Oran has developed a certain way of holding his claws that allow him to turn the pages gently with very few tears to the thin parchment. His rather bizarre hobby has served to make him a rather eccentric dragon that knows a lot of trivia about the human world that he will never put to good use.
