Fire Gem Dragons are a colorful, flamboyant breed often found in hot climates, particularly around active volcanoes. Their broad tails store the flames they breathe, which are colored by the heavy amount of minerals in the water they drink. These dragons come in a variety of colors, and will collect shiny trinkets and stones that match their own coloration. Despite their hoarding tendencies, though, Fire Gem dragons are social and will often congregate in groups and show off their collections while fawning over the stones their friends and rivals have gathered, occasionally arranging trades.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Zircon is a small dragon, no taller than a human. She has been practicing law for many, many years and possesses a keen intellect that allows her to pick apart flaws in people's stories, though as mid-rank fire gem, she's still not permitted to choose her cases. While she makes no secret of her dismay when given an extremely difficult case, she nonetheless does her best to put the facts together and provide good advice to the client. Zircon is fearful of her superiors and careful and deferential around them, but she can forget herself when she's on a roll. She wears a cloth around her neck with her most prized gem sewn into it and a translucent disc of mana that she uses to project images if she needs visuals.
