Pillow Dragons are covered in enormous amounts of fur affectionately referred to as fluff. Despite their deceivingly large size, they can still fly even with such tiny wings because their bodies are remarkably light. Pillow Dragons have a habit of sleeping for up to eighteen hours a day, waking only in short bursts. During their few waking hours, they take the time to hunt for prey. Once a pillow dragon becomes an adult, its fur grows very slowly. Pillow dragon fur is used to make very expensive and valuable cloth known as “dragon cashmere.”

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Pretty lazy and unbothered by those around her, Downy is one of those dragons who is so lost in her own head it's nigh impossible to get her attention. Neither the loudest noise nor most repulsive stench nor wildest imagery can get her to wake from a nap or even stop daydreaming for a solitary minute. Downy is just always in her own bubble. On the rare occasion she does interact with another, she displays very hazy behavior and never seems very invested. She very easily becomes bored with others and will usually just drift off again once she's completely checked out. She has no regard for other's feelings and has been known to unapologetically go to sleep in the middle of their statement. She also seems pretty unbothered by genuine threats, which is a real problem. Often times, her Candelabra mother, Firelight, (or one of her siblings) must swoop in to rescue her from danger, since she won't avoid it on her own.
