Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Latios is able to fly very fast. Using telepathy he can make foes see images he has seen or what he imagines in his head. He can understand human speech. Even if he is hiding, Latios can detect the locations and emotions of others. Latios has a very protective nature, especially towards his relative, Latias. He has a docile temperament and dislikes fighting. Compassionate towards smaller breeds, he can usually be seen playing with mints and pygmies or racing with spitfires and defending them from attackers. Latios loves the color blue and will often flirt and mate with blue colored dragon ladies.
