Coastal Waverunners spend most of their time skimming the waves along the coast, snatching up their prey from the shallow waters. They have developed markings along the leading edges of their body that help disguise them as breaking waves. When they are not hunting, they enjoy playing among sand-dunes and shallow tide-pools. These dragons live in small but noisy rookeries. Some stories say Waverunners can fly for days on end without landing.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

Skimripper likes to skim across the surface of the ocean, ripping prey out of the waves. This is not unlike how most of his kind hunt, but she makes a point of how she rips her prey from the water rather than just snatching it up like a normal waverunner. The distinction is lost on most of them, but it still is enough to give Skimripper his name.

.

There is a human town near Skimripper's bay. One of the humans there wrote this verse about him:

"Constantly hunting, a crazy wyvern

Loves to pull thousands of prey

Perhaps he'll catch an ancient urn

Or something big that'll drag him away.

.

His vulgar audacity makes him seem bold

He's catching too much and makes it a show

Maybe one day he will pull out a cold

Or anger a dragon who'll turn to a foe.

.

All we can hope is his time will soon pass

Then finally others will get fish to feast

Mountains of fish for our town, but alas,

We are outfished by this terrible beast."
