Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It glows brightly, and seems to prefer warm areas.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

An ember hatchling with an injured hind leg was found wandering far from its native habitat and soon picked up by a human. The family decided to care for it until it could fly or survive on its own, whichever comes first. The dragon is too young to determine personality other than typical baby behavior, though the humans noticed how much like a fox its scale coloring reminded them, and the youngest has taken to calling it Foxy Baby. The adults exchange dubious looks but say nothing.
