Hellfire Wyverns are so named for their foul tempers and fiery visages. Their social structure places all females above all males, due to superior physical characteristics and violent dispositions. Forced subservience of the males causes them to become vicious, petty, antisocial, and passive-aggressive compared to the aggressive and social females. However, orphaned hatchlings raised by foster parents of another species can develop surprisingly even tempers and mellow dispositions, proving that their defining unpleasant nature is, in fact, a learned behavior.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Particulars is almost eternally cheerful, and he's been this way with few exceptions as long as the people of South Sierra Hotland have known him. He's not at all what a hellfire wyvern is "supposed to be", and some dragons think that the change is quite nice, and others find his attitude a tad unsettling. He once underwent a gradual but drastic shift in personality when his timed Quest for the Four Herbs did not go as planned, and he became a sullen, short-tempered dragon with a lot of grievances and a readiness to burn the entire district down at a moment's notice. Particulars did eventually locate those quest items with the help of the Nomadic Noel Nonet, and he was soon back to his regular self. More denizens of South Sierra are afraid of him as a result, and those closest to him are trying to convince him to talk more about his personal problems while he just tells them they should forget it happened.
