Spotted Greenwings are relatively small nocturnal dragons. Easily recognizable by the fleshy appendages growing off of their head and rump, they are most commonly seen in forests at night, leaping and soaring from tree to tree. While generally social, spotted greenwings are very quiet and rarely make any sort of vocalization. Their bodies are unusually warm to the touch, though they are unable to breathe fire. Greenwings are voracious feeders and will consume nearly any living thing that they can fit in their mouths.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Lyrical has the most curious habit of "losing" random body parts. She'll be walking and suddenly stumble and fall off the tree because one foot and half her tail have vanished. Or some food she had in her mouth falls out because her mouth just disappeared. Lyrical describes it like parts of her "left to another dimension" but are still attached. That's why when the parts reappear, they're where they should be instead of disembodied pieces. She isn't magically adept, and her parents said that when they adopted her, they had no idea their daughter would have this power. A lot of dragons think she's cursed and avoid her, but she met an anatomist named Understandable who's enthralled and seems to like her. Because of his intense magical aura, the disappearing occurs more often when he's nearby. He's interested in helping Lyrical control the vanishing because he hopes he can study cross sections of her body to better understand dragon anatomy without having to dissect corpses so often.
