Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It has a somber color, but is surprisingly playful.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Midnight Chardonnay seems to think she's a cat, which is fair because the Killeen household's nonhuman residents are a pygmy dragon and a couple of black kittens. She's pretty sure that if she had to be one of those two species, she definitely resembles a cat more than a human. Hence, she does "cat things" such as mewing and hiding in containers. Because proper kittens purr, Midnight Chardonnay has taught herself how to "purr", too, though her humans don't seem to like her doing that very much. She would like to venture out of the house one day when she's older and do more cat things.
