Considered heralds of ill fortune, Omen Wyrms are usually found in areas previously ravaged by disaster or strife, blending in amongst the foliage. Due to the unique appearance and texture of their bodies, they often pass as dead trees as they wait for unsuspecting prey. Their haunting cry—like that of a hollow-sounding horn—is a sure signal to run: it is always followed by the dragons’ furious wrath, which manifests in the form of fiery cascades. Escape from an Omen Wyrm is possible, however; it is said they will not dare follow their quarry across running water, no matter the cause of their vexation.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

Tamales likes tamales. He really, really likes tamales. The story goes that the first humans to evade him did not use magic or stealth, and certainly there was not a river nearby. They dropped nearly everything burdening them as they fled on foot, including their lunches, and Tamales paused to investigate the curious yellow pillows littered on the ground. One had left its husk, and the dragon warmed it with his head and gulped it down. "YUM!" he bellowed. He devoured the rest and went home. The generations-old tale has been repeatedly confirmed. Tamales moves throughout the small region as wastelands undergo succession and other areas are razed, but one can tell if a particular omen wyrm is Tamales by his demand for tamales from every human to walk through his home. If a traveler presents him with just one average-sized cheese tamale, he will eat it and let the human pass, even ensure it travels through his territory unharmed if the tamale is especially delicious.
