Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Skye and Twight were somewhat distant cousins, and by sheer coincidence ended up together with Xyie, even though they arrived at separate times. They hesitantly took a liking to each other, and since their family distance was considered great enough, they weren't looked down upon by the others, though no one dared speak of their attraction. When both their parents died and their ancestry records lost, they were considered absolved completely of their implicitly forbidden attraction. Twight is a cool mannered, reserved dragon that keeps his head in any situation. This keeps him sharp during battle. While as adept in fighting as his cousin, he is more skilled in magic, making use of his calm mind to strategize and spellcast during fights. He has been more recently looked up to as a leader—which in battle he is, directing others to victory—yet off the battlefield he shies away from the limelight.
