Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Omega was going to be the last Nyghtdancer—the last of her forbidden line, frozen to never mature and have children. Yet she surprised her keeper by proving to be a variation of her kind, and he allowed her to come to maturity. Now, to clear the matter more, the records of her lineage except for her parents have been lost, and she is considered absolved of her status of forbidden. She as of yet claims to no mate still, and continues to be something of an enigma in her personality—dark as her hide and as cryptic as a pathway in a thick forest is hard to follow in the deep of twilight.
