Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It has long toes, and likes to wander around on lily pads.

And look! Its toes have grown longer and developed webbing! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Jumpy Ponddancer has been best friends with Avonir Insectbiter even before they hatched, though she was quite shocked at the beginning when Avonir's egg crashed into her own comfortable egg. However, this did not last long as Avonir has a very winning personality and soon entertained Jumpy with hilarious jokes.

Jumpy enjoys bouncing around from lily pad to lily pad, which is the reason for her name, as well as gliding in-between the legs of grown up water walkers thus causing them having trouble staying afloat. As she especially enjoys teasing grown up water walkers, Jumpy hears a lot of their conversations as well. Her aunts of kind (no one knows who Jumpy's mother is) Nyte, Bogfog and Cenkaytow seem to talk about nothing else than how juicy frog legs are, who of the male dragons has the cutest behind and cloud patterns, which appalled Jumpy so much that she decided to never grow up and become like her aunts.
