Vampire Dragons are members of the undead. They sustain themselves by drinking the blood of others. It is said that they are only “alive” at night, and seem dead or asleep during the day, as they cannot endure sunlight for long periods of time. Vampire Dragons can only reproduce by changing the eggs of other dragons, puncturing the shell with their fangs and injecting venom that kills the baby inside.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Vladmir was always quite stereotypical, so it unsurprising that he has a son as his only heir. Vlad Jr. is a more progressive dragon than his father, however. Instead of killing and eating unsuspecting innocents, he has a circle of friends who willingly sell small quantities of blood and also heavily supplements his diet with animal blood. Some other vampires teased him for this, asking with malicious intent if he is going to start sparkling in the sunlight instead of burning like a "real" vampire. This upset him enough that he moved far out of the area, to a place where at the time no other vampires lived. It took a long time for him to be accepted in Nworset, but eventually he became just another dragon among the nocturnal population, working as a dealer at Happenchance's casino.

Vlad Jr. is friends with J. Allfred Prufrock (among others) and has been known on occasion to join him on his evening walks.
