Aria dragons are a brightly-colored and sprightly breed, perhaps most adored for their lyric calls. Their song-like melodies fill the areas they inhabit; their coos resemble those of birds, only more elegant and refined. They have fairly strong magical capabilities, but tend to reserve these strengths for last-minute defense, choosing to live their lives in simple peace. Arias, sticking to the tropics, typically live quite far from human settlements, giving rise to the previously held belief that they had gone extinct.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Hroshimi grew up in a battle. Her father, Nailakai, fell in love with Cadine, who is her mother. Fraknan, Cadine's love, was furoius and tried to kill Nailakai. Nailakai was an outcast, so he could never see his daughter, or else he would face slaughter. Cadine promptly forgot about her, and reverted her attention to Fraknan and their new daughter Yedja. Jealousy and sorrow overtook Hroshimi, and she flew into a forest away from the clan to find her father. In the forest she stayed for years, fasting and searching. She grew up into an adult before she knew it, and never found her father. Distraught, she flew back to the clan, and cared for the young. The clan, not reconising her, took Hroshmi in as a stray. And now she stays, fueling her anger into baby-sitting the hatchlings. To her fury, she has to care for Yedja, and she dispises her with all her power.

Maybe Hroshmi will run away again.

Or maybe not.
