Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Nailakai has been an outcast since birth. When he hatched, he killed another hatchling and two eggs by pushing them off a cliff, overlooking a valley. This forced Gnard, the leader of the scroll, to banish him from the clan. As Nailakai grew up, he fell in love with Cadine, a pink dragon. Fraknan, Cadine's lover, didn't like this and almost killed Nailakai. Before the battle, he managed to have a child with Cadine, who brought Hroshmi into the world. Ever since, Nailakai has been forced to defend himself with violence—just to survive.

Who would've thought that dragons can be reduced to nothing by being treated as a outcast. Lots of dragons sympathise for Nailakai, and at the same time despise him, as he lashes out recklessly for seemingly no reason.
