Horse Dragons have equine-shaped bodies and hooves instead of claws, which allow them to be fast runners. They specialize in running takeoffs, which are quicker than taking off from a stand-still. Horse dragons are able to stalk their prey from the ground then quickly execute an aerial attack for the kill.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Brave, strong, and a bit pushy, Leviq and his mate, Mrac, started the clan Valor Caliber. His beginnings in Vair's cave were rough. The only other horse dragon he could relate to was Mrac, who had been there just a week before he came. Mrac was raised by Aurora Boreas, who was already raising many others at the time, and Leviq was left to raise himself. They banded together as they grew up and decided since their circumstances were similar and they were the same type that it only made sense to be mates. He has become a tough dragon through raising himself and required those in his clan to be tough as well. Of course, his clan was mostly family and those that they married, but he kept his code rules clear. He also has a nurturing side that only surfaces when sickness overcomes one of his clan members. He has gone so far as climbing the treacherous mountains to obtain a cure from the infamous Wizard Zarson.
