Horse Dragons have equine-shaped bodies and hooves instead of claws, which allow them to be fast runners. They specialize in running takeoffs, which are quicker than taking off from a stand-still. Horse dragons are able to stalk their prey from the ground then quickly execute an aerial attack for the kill.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

ZhaoYun was an abandoned egg found by Windnara. She adopted her and raised her as her own. She gave her the name ZhaoYun, the same name as the famous general of Ancient China because of her bravery. This is unusual, since the general is a male. Since she was young, ZhaoYun never hesitates when it comes to protecting the weak, particular younger Dragons, that is why some of the younger ones adores her, and takes her up as a role model. Because of her nature, ZhaoYun never like to stay in one place and likes to wander off, she seldom comes back to the cave, but when she does, she is greeted most warmly by the others. She will stay for awhile, rest, sharing stories of her adventures before taking off again.
