Coastal Waverunners spend most of their time skimming the waves along the coast, snatching up their prey from the shallow waters. They have developed markings along the leading edges of their body that help disguise them as breaking waves. When they are not hunting, they enjoy playing among sand-dunes and shallow tide-pools. These dragons live in small but noisy rookeries. Some stories say Waverunners can fly for days on end without landing.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Probably the most mature Diamondtail sibling, although that isn't saying much, Light avoids the antics of his older brothers in place of acting above their foolishness. He'll judge their radical, reckless actions as childish and even try to ruin their games on occasion, leading to a rivalry between them. Light is seen as pompous and selfish, especially by his brothers, but he'll only counter with some sort of smart insult. Of course, the truth is Light really does want to get involved with his brothers' craziness but is too prideful to admit it, or admit he's scared to wind up in the Clinic with them. So he puffs his chest and makes himself feel superior to distract himself from feeling left out. It's possible the eldest child, Thor, knows this and simply indulges him the same way he does their other brother, Tiffany, but this is not fully confirmed. Light tends to be very secretive when it comes to his emotions. He hides his feelings, good or bad, to prevent himself from feeling weak.
