Cheese Dragons are not actually alive. They are enchanted items of food that act almost identically to dragons. They have no need to eat, but they must “live” in humid environments or they will dry out and harden.

Lei is different from the other Cheese dragons of Kaini's clan. The wizard that made this fake dragon had been experimenting with different cheese types and additives. This particular cheese is soft, and sweetened with powdered sugar. As a result, it has the consistency of clay, and the flavor of cream cheese icing.

Now, Lei is very much obsessed with pleasing the owner that rescued her from the wizard, so soon it began to model itself into a perfect replica of a cupcake with a cherry on top. It even stained itself with food coloring to add to the impression. It was sure this would make its owner very happy. When it walked out the cave in search of the dragon tamer, some dragons were convinced it was a walking pastry.
