Shumoga Dragons are a skittish breed, more likely to spit fire at a threat and take to the air than stand and fight. However, if cornered, they will wield their fiery breath and sharp hind claws in lethal defense. Their claws are also a powerful weapon for hunting—they drop down on their prey from above and disembowel it with a swift slash. Pale Shumoga Dragons are rarely seen in the wild, as their coloring only fades to a soft orange if the hatchling remains in their egg for a long period of time. They tend to be scorned by their dark-winged brethren because they are considered weaker, but they have a much calmer and more friendly temperament. Unlike their wild kin, they do not force eggs to hatch but rather allow their hatchlings to choose when to emerge.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Swan is graceful and majestic. He possesses a suave and intelligent air that makes him seem almost princely. He speaks with vibrant eloquence and enjoys indulging in the arts. As aristocratic as he seems, he is not as pompous or arrogant as some may perceive him to be. Quite the opposite in fact, Swan is highly personable and friendly. He really enjoys getting into intimate group settings and conversing with others dragons, people, and even the occasional drake, if they find enough interest in him. His refined language can be a bit inaccessible. Though he may not be aware of this habit, he tends to talk as if everyone understood the same vocabulary he did. And, while some are turned off by this, plenty can look past his vernacular and take his words for their tone and intention rather than their direct meaning. These individuals have found a genuinely kind-hearted and upstanding dragon with great and varied curiosity for the world around him.
