Script Dragons are named for the markings along their wings and sides that look almost like calligraphy. The patterns correspond to no known language, and are slightly different on every dragon. These dragons only develop the characteristic markings when they reach maturity, and they are fairly capable with magic once the patterns appear.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Maid Plz made her life's goal to have a maid. She doesn't know what a maid is for, but she heard that among some humans, one sign of status was having one or more personal servants, which sounded like a really neat idea. After a few years of amassing a variety of shiny objects, Maid Plz ventured away from the volcano to seek a fine maid. To her surprise, the first dragon she asked, a lounging daydream dragon, took her offer without much thought and followed her home. (She later learned that he was enamored with her candor and puzzled by her lack of hind legs). Maid Plz's kin admired her handsome status symbol, even though none understood what else a maid was supposed to do. Rather than sit around and do nothing, he agreed to do chores in exchange for food and living comforts. The two have had this arrangement ever since and possibly had a child or dozen, too. Maid Plz has yet to decide on a next life goal, since she had assumed she'd take much longer to fulfill her earlier one.
