Magnesium Amphipteres are a rather violent species. They ruthlessly drive out anything that dares to trespass on their territory, and spend much of their time flying tirelessly in wide circles as they hunt and patrol their space. Often a single individual shows aggression between even its own two heads as they fight for food and control over their body. They are not social and will only come together to mate, after which the two dragons return to their own territory almost instantly. Magnesium Amphipteres are named for their flames: these dragons can breathe blindingly bright, powdery flame from both heads.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Two-headed dragons are unique enough to deserve a separate classification from ordinary dragons. They have two necks, two brains, two mouths, but one stomach and one main body. The two heads usually work together, but there are times when they will fight each other, snapping back and forth. Their unique anatomy prevents them from breeding with single-headed dragons.

Limping and Cursing may be a proudly nasty and territorial dragon, but she does make some concessions when invaders-... er... visitors... come by so people don't get any ideas about banding up against her. She knows a few Magnesium Amphipteres in these parts who unwisely made enemies with everybody and were then slain for being threats to peace and safety, and perhaps most insultingly, the slayers were hailed as heroes and given gold and other nice things. Limping and Cursing is determined not to end up the same way as those dead dumb-dumbs. Probably the most well-known characteristic of her is the way she invites certain individuals to partake in food. Whenever she does, she promises her guests that they will come to no harm. If they decline, she promises them that she'll consider a great number of possible harms. She always keeps a promise and will go to great lengths to uphold her end of a deal, if anyone is patient and tough enough to manage to strike one with her.
