Gold dragons are the ones most often killed by humans, who consider their scales to be extremely valuable. These golden scales grant them a high level of protection, similar to armor, and they use this to their advantage in battle.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Latellven was an accident. The human of her cave got word that several new species were discovered along a coastline, so the human traveled to see for itself. While seeking out the newly founds, the human saw two brightly colored eggs next to each other. One a sky blue with white swirls and the other a pure gold. The two eggs were both brought back to the Cave of Mintions and raised side-by-side.

Although they're not marked as related, Latellven considers Goldensky Shuldore to be her sister. She has developed her wing strength to fly as long as she can to be with her sister, who has trouble when grounded.
