As the nocturnal relative to Sunbeam Drakes, Moonglow Drakes are a secretive breed most active under the light of the moons and stars. They are wary of others, but are known to have incredible loyalty should their trust be won. Catching sight of Moonglow Drakes as they dance amid the moonlight is seen as a favorable omen by those they live near, and tamed individuals are common. They are slightly smaller than their cousins, averaging around the size of a cat.

Though it may appear at first that dragons and drakes have much in common, the two are completely separate species. Drakes are smaller and less intelligent than their cousin species, though both dragons and drakes sit comfortably near the top of the food chain. They are always found bearing antlers and leathery wings. Drakes share many of the same habitats that dragons do, and typically hunt in packs.

The others scoff "traitor" every time they see him. He can't blame them. He's despicable for his cowardice.

Alternate once was the General of the Nebbia drakes. Praised for his prowess with magic and his cunning.

Until the day his enemy pressed a knife to his throat.

Alt had become a threat to Creorluna, the enemy. Their leader Izdati sent Soriton, his favorite pet assassin, to take him out. But she fell in love with Alt. Obsessive and possessive by nature, the moment she saw him she fell for him. Hard.

She presented herself as a prospective mate but he turned down her advances, uninterested.

She poisoned him with a slow acting, magical toxin in retaliation.

But she didn't let him die. Not quite. Instead she held the antidote over his head, promising to keep him alive so long as he forsook Nebbia and became her mate. Afraid to die, he agreed.

The toxin is enchanted to never leave Alts body and it can only be neutralized not stopped. Without a daily dose of the antidote, he'll die.
