Holiday dragons are a very mysterious breed. They are only seen during winter, and even then it is hard to catch a glimpse of one. They are responsible for the general cheer that spreads during the holidays. In essence, they are the “Spirits of Winter.”

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

For twelve days in December, Mr Sacks, the Crimson Beast of Winter, makes its rounds to as many houses as possible. It is clad in a red, fur-trimmed robe that conceals everything aside from a bit of snout and occasionally its arms, and it appears to be a hunched humanoid while hiding its large wings in the robe. Nobody's seen what's under all the cloth, so people call the creature an "it", which Mr Sacks seems to prefer, anyway. Rather than offer gifts from the sack it carries, Mr Sacks takes things away from the humans it visits. It might take their banned books, it might take their pains, it might take their song and poetry; what it comes away with is usually at the discretion of the owner. Little is known about this strange entity, especially its origins and the reasons for its curious behavior. Some people say Mr Sacks may just be a jolly vagrant who drinks a lot of fermented beverage and enjoys taking stuff.
