Albino Dragons are so named because their translucent, scale-less skin lacks all pigment. Instead, to help protect their bodies from the sun, they are coated in an oily secretion that blocks the sun’s harmful rays. The call of an albino dragon is similar to a barn owl--a shriek instead of a roar.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Kadyha loves to kill humans and eat them. He kills them quickly and silently. After scraping the bones clean, he makes jewelry and trades it to a vampire clan. In return for his bloodshed he is rewarded with something more pleasurable than killing; little hatchlings. He then indoctrinates the hatchlings to become morbid killers. Kadyha wasn't always like this. He once had a love, Terra, and hatchlings. He loved them very much. One day, Terra was out cleaning the den. Suddenly, Coal Lump, an old vampire dragon friend from hatchling school came over and warned them about a snow storm setting in. Fearful, the family heeded his advice and Coal grew very close to them. So close that Terra fell in love with him, and not poor old Kadyha. She proceeded to join Coal's vampire clan and Coal turned her and their hatchlings into vampire dragons, in an act of love. Kadyha turned bitter and furious at the world after his family left. He has a huge theory written about how it's all the humans' fault.
