Welcome to Dragon Cave! Dragon Cave is an online adoptables game. Collect eggs, raise them to adulthood, and then breed them to create interesting lineages. New dragons are added regularly!
This hatchling appears to be... dead?
Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.
Dragons of the Legion have voices until maturity—upon growing wings, they fall strangely mute in nearly all ways, only able to communicate with others through faint telepathic whispers. Strangely, the Legion had no trouble with the minds of one another, and upon realizing this, sought a way to speak to other creatures. It was Aurelian who came up with the idea of changing an egg and immediately freezing the hatchling, teaching it to be their voice.
The hatchling—known only as Legion—only has the faintest wisp of its own self. All it knows is that it must speak the words they put into its mind, roaming from town to town, gathering other dragons for their numbers. There are times when it does show some individuality. Sometimes it will look for books filled with pictures of other dragons, or show particular interest in a play or song. But the moment the others need its voice, those wisps of personality fade, and it simply becomes the tool it was born to be.
