Gold dragons are the ones most often killed by humans, who consider their scales to be extremely valuable. These golden scales grant them a high level of protection, similar to armor, and they use this to their advantage in battle.

Gilded Nightmare is the offspring of a female gold dragon and a nightmarish male black dragon. The strange unity produced a dragon with the beauty of his mother and the temperament of his father. His fierce attitude has helped him to survive over the years, for his golden hide makes him at high risk to be hunted by greedy humans. Other dragons sometimes get more than they bargained for when they attempt to interact with him, not expecting his short temper. Over time, he may adjust to the safety of his cave and not be such a nightmare to others.
