Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It becomes active at sunrise, and sleeps solidly during the night.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Gadeir is young and very naive. He believes nearly everything others say, especially when two or more people agree that it's true. He's been told many things, sometimes by someone who just wants to see if he'll buy the lie. He's been led to believe that eating grass will turn him into grass; his shoulder is his elbow, and his elbow is his shoulder; any orange-colored dragon is a figment of his imagination; the stars are responsible for snuffing out the sun in the evening; and so on. Most people believe that telling Gadeir ridiculous things is merely harmless fun and he will stop being overly trusting once he's a bit older, while a few softer individuals worry that he'll become a grouchy and overly cynical adult if people keep lying to him.
