Horse Dragons have equine-shaped bodies and hooves instead of claws, which allow them to be fast runners. They specialize in running takeoffs, which are quicker than taking off from a stand-still. Horse dragons are able to stalk their prey from the ground then quickly execute an aerial attack for the kill.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

His name means "Widespread Brightness" in Japanese, since his mother was so happy when he hatched. He is the son of Izumi and Hikaru. He was very arrogant and boastful throught his childhood and early teens, since he was one of the few children with both parents being the same type of dragon. It really upset his parents that he thought he was so much better than the other children, but they couldn't convince him otherwise. Kiku changed his mind however. Hiroaki always thought that he would one day be mated to a beautiful female horse dragon, until he met Kiku, a stunning fall seasonal dragon. He saw her sun bathing in a clearing in the forest, and decided to talk to her. After several meetings he fell in love, and realized that being different can be just as fun as being alike. He is now kind and thoughtful of ALL dragons, and not a trace of boastfulness or arrogance can be found in him, all because of his love for Kiku, who agreed to be his mate, and make him the happiest dragon ever.
