Horse Dragons have equine-shaped bodies and hooves instead of claws, which allow them to be fast runners. They specialize in running takeoffs, which are quicker than taking off from a stand-still. Horse dragons are able to stalk their prey from the ground then quickly execute an aerial attack for the kill.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. He is the son of Daiki and Ren. His name means "Radiance" in Japanese, since his mother always believed that he would be a great dragon one day. However, once he hatched, everyone else stopped believing it. He was very shy and timid for a horse dragon, and while everyone loved him for it, no one believed that it would lead him to greatness. All the other dragons figured it was because he had a peace loving mother, and that was why he was so "soft". His best friend Izumi, and his parents always believed in him. And one day he proved them right by fighting, and chasing away, an aggressive intruder that was trying to steal Izumi away. Afterwards Hikaru confessed his love to her, and asked her to be his mate. She said yes, and they've been happily in love ever since.
