Sociable and small, Glowback Pygmies are very caring towards other pygmies’ young. They tend to be nocturnal, lazing in the sun or resting in the treetops during the day, while at night they dance in the dark, their backs glowing brightly due to a bioluminescent chemical they produce in the hair-like growths on their backs. These hairs may shine in many colors; some individuals hold a solid shade across their back, while most gleam with a multitude of different hues. They have a love for shiny objects, often taking them back to their nest and leaving something from their home tree in return.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Pygmy dragons are the smallest category of dragons, being on the same scale as domesticated animals. They are often found around concentrated populations of dragons, relying on their larger brethren to ward away potential predators and leave scraps. As such, the majority of a pygmy’s diet is scavenged. Due to their tiny size, pygmies do not breed with larger varieties of dragons.

User Description

To MiniLitebrite, the more colors one's back has, the merrier. She has devised spells and dye combinations to paint more colors, but because looking at her own back is a bit tricky, she applies her creations on other glowback pygmies so she can look at them instead. She only targets glowbacks. Since sometimes her creations fail to work as intended, others are wary of her and try not to engage in conversation other than small talk, fearing she'll start talking about her latest experiment and try to convince them to be her test subjects. Whenever a chore or job requires multiple dragons to work together to complete and MiniLitebrite is one of the dragons involved, the other volunteers are almost always pygmies of other breeds, since they're exempt.
