And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Furry Walls often leaves his group, going to a specific field near a town to sunbathe on his own. A few humans have ventured into his favorite spot to give him a pat, and some have even dozed off beside him. He doesn't mind the attention and loves being stroked, which also has a calming effect on people under stress. The townspeople tell each other that when they need cheering up, they can head to that field and "stroke the Furry Walls".
