Gold dragons are the ones most often killed by humans, who consider their scales to be extremely valuable. These golden scales grant them a high level of protection, similar to armor, and they use this to their advantage in battle.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Aur Leo was kindly gifted to Tastica's clan by a miner who lived in a nearby village, who found the egg in the mines but had no room for a dragon in his small house. Since hatch-hood, Aur was a born leader, although became very serious from an early age. His first love, Evensong, was the only person he felt comfortable with, but she and him were both destined for another. Due to the heartbreak losing Evensong cost him, Aur Leo treats his partner Aur Aries coldly, ignoring their only child, and keeping her by his side only to appease the Aries Clan, as he has no love for her. Aur is a serious, firm dragon, whose word is taken as law, although has a very superior outlook which makes him appear snooty and has a low opinion of dragons outside his clan.
