Cheese Dragons are not actually alive. They are enchanted items of food that act almost identically to dragons. They have no need to eat, but they must “live” in humid environments or they will dry out and harden.

Cheese was named after a extremely silly occurrence. Its owner was struggling to come up with an acceptable name for it when it was a hatchling and observed it for quite a time while thinking up a decent name. Unfortunately, and after much frustration, little was discovered besides the dragon liked to squawk strange words when presented with new objects. Deciding it might be best to name it after what type of cheese it was made of, its owner asked for a sample of its cheese. After being all but deafened by Cheese's protests, its owner gave up and decided to name it Whatchamacallit Cheese on account of its odd habit and unknown type of cheese.
