Kyanite Pygmies are a feisty breed, always full of energy. Playfully ebullient, these tiny and elusive dragons like to chase after one another, darting in and out of small alcoves and other such hiding places. They often dig small burrows underneath large trees and nibble on the roots for sustenance. They rely on the towering oaks’ formidable trunks and vast immensity to hide them from predators, something their small size aids in. Kyanites also secrete a weak toxin when threatened, which further protects them from intruders. However, this poison is not strong enough to affect larger creatures, humans included.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Pygmy dragons are the smallest category of dragons, being on the same scale as domesticated animals. They are often found around concentrated populations of dragons, relying on their larger brethren to ward away potential predators and leave scraps. As such, the majority of a pygmy’s diet is scavenged. Due to their tiny size, pygmies do not breed with larger varieties of dragons.

User Description

Timid and self-effacing, Winton is sometimes away from the common areas of the territory for days. Sometimes he's just holed up in his stumpy home, but more often, he's off in some other location for peace and quiet, or in his words, to not be a bother to others. Some dragons believe he studies magic in secret, hence his disappearances. Winton is an honest kyanite, though. One can find him if they simply ask where he's going or if they know about the handful of choice places he likes to go to. Winton's guardians hope that he'll find a kyanite partner, but they know it likely won't happen since he has his sights on this vivacious, bright seawyrm lady who visits on rare occasions to conduct population research. He has yet to figure out how to fly, but he's determined to so he can impress her.
