Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. When it basks in moonlight, it is surrounded by a faintly glowing aura.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

All Patent Troll likes to do is make trouble. He bothers all the other kiddies over things that are "his"—he'll pick things up or point at them and claim them. Then, when someone younger and smaller so much as touches the object, he'll swoop over and demand his bewildered target hand over portions of their hoard or meal as payment for "using" his belongings. No one likes Patent Troll, and many step lightly around him and wish he would go away.
