Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. Unlike the other hatchlings, this one hatched with wings.

And look! Its back legs have become a second set of wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

The baby dragon called Kamiggy was looking at himself in a very polished stone. He thought how lustrous his sky blue scales were,and his beautiful white belly. But what he liked the most about himself was his little purple birthmark on his head. People have called Kamiggy a quiet little dragon who doesn't do all that much, but he knew that he would appear less lazy if his mother and father would fly in the skies with him more often. "I even have a small rock collection! How could they call me lazy!" he said as he admired his birthmark. "Mother insisted that the rock collection was necessary to appear productive and appealing to the other dragons." He just didn't understand. He didn't understand a lot of things. Such as why his parents didn't like him eating shrimp. Shrimp is delicious! "Plus Juno was the one who gave it to me, it's not like I got it myself," he said as he preened his wings and tail and focused on the task ahead. Perhaps he'd go for a fly after all.
