What they lack in size and strength, Tatterdrakes make up for in aggression and ferocity. Any perceived threat is seen as a challenge and met with complete hostility; fights for territory are so commonplace that many older Tatterdrakes possess wings so ripped from fighting that they can no longer fly. Tatterdrakes are exclusively solitary except when they are seeking mates, for which they also clash.

Though it may appear at first that dragons and drakes have much in common, the two are completely separate species. Drakes are smaller and less intelligent than their cousin species, though both dragons and drakes sit comfortably near the top of the food chain. They are always found bearing antlers and leathery wings. Drakes share many of the same habitats that dragons do, and typically hunt in packs.

Axtak was once a trained war animal during the great Temporal Wars, and served under the notorious general Dagaramishu. He was put through many magical experiments for the sake of this purpose, resulting in his mana being heavily and permanently unbalanced, despite the attempts of many mages to help fix it.

He fled capture at the end of the war and now wanders the wilderness as a lone and fierce beast. His crudely damaged mana doesn't react well with his surroundings, resulting in frequent but very tiny phenomenons in time and space wherever he may travel. He is too dimwitted to possibly control these powers, but also too ferocious to let anyone get close enough to possibly fix them, and so he lives as an outcast. The authority of the Clan agrees that Axtak, though troublesome, is simply better left avoided.
