Sapphire Dragons were so named for their brilliant blue-green color, which is reminiscent of the gemstone. This breed was historically hunted for their scales; even long after, they remain distrustful of humans. Normally a Sapphire is not very aggressive, but they will defend themselves vigorously if under attack. Their diet consists mainly of fruit, with smaller portions of large insects and other invertebrates. Males woo females with vocalizations similar to bird songs. Sapphire Dragons are very loyal to their mates, and it is not unusual that they pair for life.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

Most dragons don't mind sitting or lying on their feet or resting their bums on the ground, though some, like many a lumina, want to stay cleaner. Kjarom constructs chairs for dragons like those. It's harder than it sounds because there are many types of dragons of different sizes and limbs and spiky bits, and that's not even bringing up taste. Luckily, dragons can live a long, long time, so this fellow has had many decades of practice. He's constructed things from simple stools to couches to golden litters, but his favorite kind to build are thrones, and there are so many royal families on Valkemare that he never runs out of clients. One year, a recently-crowned waterhorse empress commissioned a chair—a huge challenge because Kjarom had never made a chair that is not only comfortable for a waterhorse's shape but waterproof, too. After months of hard work he pulled it off. The empress was ecstatic receiving the beautiful throne and paid extra, promising to always chair-ish it.
