Copper Dragons are masters of stealth, slipping silently and swiftly through the forests and jungles where they live. Often hunting in groups, their prey rarely know they are being stalked until the dragon’s at their throat. In the air they are agile and skilled. Copper Dragons prize family groups, spending large amounts of time teaching their young skills. So great is their love of life and family that they will sometimes adopt orphaned dragons of other breeds to raise.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

The first thing one will probably notice about Tarboosh is his hat. Folks are pretty sure he owns several because there's no way a single hat wouldn't've worn out by now. The dragon seems to have a sentimental attachment to his hat(s) despite knowing little about its history or the people who wear it. The hat is a maroon, sort of cylindrical headdress made of kilim fabric—a very unusual item that not only makes Tarboosh stick out among other coppers but makes him stick out among the local humans, whose hats are made of wool or felt and look wildly different. He wears it everywhere, its tassel flapping as he flies or jogs from place to place. Tarboosh is a cheery, easygoing dragon who sees no enjoyment in dispatching living creatures and only does so for food. He has taken care of many non-copper hatchlings and even a handful of humans, raising them all with love and care despite their differences. The only way to truly infuriate him is to insult or try to destroy his special hat.
